The Model

How is TikTok Shop affiliate different from running paid ads?

With paid ads on Meta or Google, you pay per click or impression regardless of whether a purchase happens — the budget depletes whether your ROAS is positive or not. With TikTok Shop affiliate, you pay a commission only when a sale is confirmed and completed. Creators produce and distribute the content at their own cost, so your only variable is the percentage of revenue you share. RicoTok operates exclusively on this model: no sale, no payment to us or to the creators.

How is this different from a one-off influencer deal?

A one-off influencer deal pays a flat fee for a single post with no guaranteed outcome — you might get reach, you might get zero sales. TikTok Shop affiliate is structurally different: each creator uses a unique trackable affiliate link, every sale is attributed in real time through TikTok’s dashboard, and videos stay live indefinitely, compounding sales over time. The commission relationship continues for as long as a creator’s content performs, not just for the duration of a campaign.

What exactly does RicoTok handle, and what do we handle ourselves?

RicoTok manages the full affiliate operation: creator recruitment and vetting, product briefing, content review before anything goes live, affiliate link setup, performance tracking, and commission coordination. The brand’s responsibilities are limited to approving the creator selection, shipping product samples to creators, and paying commission on confirmed sales. You do not need a TikTok Business account manager or in-house creator relations team.

How are sales tracked? Can I verify the numbers?

Sales are tracked through TikTok Shop’s native affiliate dashboard, which attributes every completed purchase to a specific creator’s link in real time. Both the brand and RicoTok see the same data — there is no separate tracking layer or third-party tool involved. You can log in to your TikTok Shop seller account at any time to verify the sales figures independently.

What margin do I need for this to work?

Commission rates on TikTok Shop Spain typically run between 5% and 20%, set by the brand based on product margin. To make the model viable, you need enough gross margin to offer a commission rate that motivates creators while keeping the unit economics positive. As a baseline, products with a margin above 40% can generally support a competitive commission without eroding profitability. Products priced under €60 with a clear visual demonstration tend to convert best in this market.

What do I actually pay, and when?

You pay commission on confirmed, completed sales only — there are no retainer fees, no setup fees, and no monthly fixed costs. Product samples shipped to creators are your only upfront cost, and that is standard across all TikTok Shop affiliate programs regardless of the agency involved. Commission is processed through TikTok Shop’s own payment system on confirmed orders, so you are never paying in advance of revenue.

What if sales never come? What are we actually risking?

Your financial exposure is limited to the cost of product samples shipped to creators. RicoTok charges no fee unless sales are generated. If a creator’s content does not convert, you lose nothing beyond the sample cost — which is the same cost you would incur sending product to any reviewer or influencer, with or without an affiliate program.

What if we want to exit the program?

There is no lock-in contract. You can pause or exit the program at any point. Active affiliate links can be deactivated through TikTok Shop’s seller dashboard, which stops future sales from being attributed. Commission liability ends with the last confirmed sale — there is no ongoing obligation once you close out the program.

How long before we see the first sale?

Typical time from a signed brand agreement to the first confirmed sales is 14 days. This covers the intake review, creator selection, product shipping, content production, RicoTok’s content review, and posting. The timeline can extend if creator-side production takes longer than expected or if product shipping is delayed, but 14 days is the standard working assumption.

What if the creators produce bad content?

Every piece of content is reviewed by RicoTok before it is posted. If a video does not meet the agreed brief, does not represent the product accurately, or falls below quality standards, it is rejected and the creator is asked to reshoot. Brands do not have to chase creators directly — the content review process sits with RicoTok before anything goes live on TikTok.

The highest-converting categories on TikTok Shop Spain are beauty and skincare, home organisation, fashion accessories, wellness and supplements, tech accessories, food and kitchen products, pet products, and baby and family products. The common thread is visual demonstrability — products that can be shown solving a problem or producing a visible result in under 60 seconds. Products priced under €60 convert most reliably; higher price points can work but typically require stronger social proof and a longer consideration cycle.

Do we own the content creators make?

Content produced by TikTok creators for your affiliate program is owned by the creator unless you negotiate a separate usage rights agreement. What you do get is an indefinitely live piece of content on TikTok that continues to generate sales through the affiliate link. If you want to repurpose creator content in paid ads or on your own channels, that is a separate agreement to be made directly with the creator — RicoTok can facilitate this conversation.

We are not a Spanish brand. Can we still participate?

Yes, provided your products are available for sale in Spain and you can fulfil TikTok Shop Spain orders. RicoTok works with international brands selling into the Spanish market. Getting Started

Do I need a big following to join?

No. RicoTok accepts creators from 1,000 followers upward. The evaluation focuses on engagement rate and audience trust — a 3,000-follower account with high comment activity and genuine niche authority will be accepted over a 50,000-follower account with passive or bought engagement. If your audience responds to your content, that is the signal that matters for affiliate conversion.

Do I need to already have a TikTok Shop account?

Your TikTok account needs to be eligible for TikTok Shop affiliate in Spain, which requires a Spanish-market account with a minimum follower threshold set by TikTok. If you are not yet set up, RicoTok can walk you through the eligibility and registration process as part of onboarding. The application to join the network takes under two minutes.

Do I have to be exclusive to RicoTok?

No. There is no exclusivity requirement. You can run campaigns with other agencies, promote products from multiple brands simultaneously, and maintain any existing affiliate partnerships. Working with RicoTok adds brand partnerships and managed product matching to whatever you are already doing — it does not replace or restrict it.

How the Money Works

Do I have to pay for the products I receive?

No. Brands ship products to you at no cost. You keep the product regardless of how your content performs. This is how TikTok Shop affiliate works across the board — the product is the creator’s compensation for the production effort, and the commission is the financial upside on top of that.

How much can I actually earn?

Earnings depend on posting frequency, how well your content converts, and which products you promote. Active creators in the RicoTok network earn between €380 and €2,000+ per month. Commission is uncapped — a video that picks up strong organic reach can generate hundreds of sales in a short period, and sales continue to come in as long as the video is live. There is no ceiling set by a flat-fee deal.

When do I get paid, and how?

Commission is paid on confirmed, completed sales as processed through TikTok Shop’s affiliate payment system. Payment timing follows TikTok Shop’s standard settlement cycle after an order is confirmed and the return window has passed. You can track every sale and commission earned in real time through TikTok Shop’s affiliate dashboard — there is no separate reporting tool to learn.

What if a video gets zero views and generates no sales?

You keep the product and there is no penalty. Not every video will convert, and that is a normal part of affiliate content. The strategy is to build a library of content across multiple products and multiple posts — some videos will underperform, others will generate sales for months. RicoTok briefs creators with formats and hooks that have a demonstrated track record, which improves the odds, but no result is ever guaranteed per video.

How often do I have to post?

There is no mandatory posting frequency. Brands and RicoTok have expectations set during the onboarding process — typically at least one video per product partnership — but you are not locked into a content calendar. Creators who post consistently earn more because they build a broader affiliate content library, but this is incentive-driven, not contractual.

Do I have to follow a script?

No. You film in your own voice and style. RicoTok provides a brief with the key product points, proven hooks, and content angles that work for each product category — but this is a guide, not a word-for-word script. Audiences on TikTok respond to authentic presentation. The brief is there to increase the chance your content converts, not to turn you into a spokesperson.

Does RicoTok approve my content before I post it?

Yes. All content goes through a review by RicoTok before you post. This review checks that the product is represented accurately, the affiliate link is correctly placed, and the content meets the agreed brief. If a revision is needed, you will be told specifically what to adjust. This process protects both you and the brand, and it usually takes less than 24 hours.

What brands and products will I be promoting?

RicoTok matches creators to brands based on niche, audience demographics, and engagement profile. The product categories active in the network include beauty and skincare, home organisation, fashion accessories, wellness and supplements, tech accessories, food and kitchen products, pet products, and baby and family products. You will only be matched to products relevant to your content and audience — you are not expected to promote products that do not fit your channel.

Who owns the content I make?

You own the content you create. The affiliate arrangement does not transfer content rights to the brand or to RicoTok. If a brand wants to repurpose your video in paid ads or on their own channels, that requires a separate usage rights agreement negotiated directly with you. Your content on TikTok remains on your account under your control.

Can I work with brands outside of what RicoTok offers?

Yes. You are free to pursue your own brand deals, work with other agencies, and promote products outside of the RicoTok network. The only requirement is that you honour the individual product agreements you enter into with brands through RicoTok — those are exclusive on a per-product basis, meaning you would not simultaneously promote a direct competitor product from a different source while running an active campaign for that brand through RicoTok.
